After care financial assistance will be available to young people where they meet each of the following criteria:
- Left OOHC at age 15 or older, having been in the parental responsibility of the Minister or the Director General under an order of the Children's Court or as a protected person; AND
- Were in the care of the Minister or Director General for more than 12 months; AND
- Are living independently; AND
- Are under 25 years of age
After care payment contingencies include

- Establishment Costs
- Legal Costs
- Medical Costs (dental only)
- Official documents
- Out of Guideline payments
- Professional therapy
- Respite/Support Workers
